Corporate social responsibility
Fennovoima wishes to be a responsible member of society. Corporate social responsibility at Fennovoima comprises three component areas: financial, environmental and personnel responsibility.
Fennovoima requires all of its partners, sub-contractors and power plant suppliers to operate in accordance with practices accepted in Finnish society and in compliance with Finnish law.
Fennovoima aims to maintain a transparent dialogue with interest groups such as shareholders, employees, residents of the community where the power plant is located, power plant suppliers, officials and NGOs.
Financial responsibility
The operations of Fennovoima have financial impacts both nationally and locally in the community where the company is based. Fennovoima contributes to local well-being by paying local government taxes and providing employment both directly and indirectly, besides participating in local activities in other ways.
Fennovoima actively participates in community life and publicizes its activities both to its interest groups and to society at large. Fennovoima supports research and development in its industry. Fennovoima is involved in developing nuclear power technology training together with the University of Oulu, the Lappeenranta University of Technology, the Oulu University of Applied Sciences and other actors in the field.
Environmental responsibility
We take the environment into account in all our operations and decision-making.
We limit our environmental burden by employing the best available technologies and practices. Our use of natural resources and raw materials is as economic and energy-efficient as possible.
Environmental aspects are major factors in corporate decision-making at Fennovoima.
Personnel responsibility
The purpose of Fennovoima’s HR policy is to create a good and encouraging workplace atmosphere based on transparency, equality and trust.
We offer our employees challenging job duties and encourage them into continuous self-improvement. We consider it important for our employees to be enthusiastic about their jobs and proud of their achievements.
As an employer, we support personnel well-being in many ways and emphasize equality. We value the individual’s right to leisure time and aim to be as fair an employer as possible.
