1 Fennovoima’s goal

Fennovoima will own and operate the safest, most efficient, and best performing nuclear power plant in the world.

2 Fennovoima’s task

Fennovoima’s task is to provide electricity at production cost to its shareholders in proportion to their ownership through constructing a new nuclear power plant in Finland.

This task serves Finland’s interests by safeguarding the nation’s power needs, by reducing the need for electricity imports, and by fighting against climate change. Fennovoima increases functionality, openness, and competition in the Finnish electricity market.

3 Fennovoima’s method of operation

Fennovoima bases its operations on:

4 Fennovoima’s achievements

Fennovoima’s success is measured against the following milestones:

• Wide range of Finnish industrial, mercantile and service enterprises, and energy companies joining Fennovoima as shareholders
• Site locations suitable for Fennovoima’s nuclear power plant are selected
• Environmental impact assessment is successfully completed
• The Government and Parliament make a positive Decision-in-Principle concerning Fennovoima’s nuclear power plant
• Contracts are entered into with plant suppliers
• Licenses and other permits are granted for the construction
• Construction project is successfully carried out
• Operating license is granted by the Finnish Government
• Fennovoima’s new nuclear power plant is operated successfully
