Project schedule

Fennovoima was founded in 2007. The company has 70 owners.

In 2009 Fennovoima submitted an application to the Finnish Government for a Decision-in-Principle for the construction of a new nuclear power plant.

The Finnish Government and Parliament gave Fennovoima a Decision-in-Principle in 2010. Therefore Fennovoima has the permit to build a new nuclear power plant.

In 2011 Fennovoima decided that the plant will be built to Pyhäjoki.

The reactor supplier will be selected in 2012 or 2013.

The nuclear power plant is planned to start its electricity production earliest in 2020.

Fennovoima

Fennovoima is a Finnish energy company founded in 2007. The company's objective is to build a new nuclear power plant in Finland and produce reasonably-priced electricity for its owners.

Fennovoima's majority shareholders are local energy companies and companies representing industry and the retail sector using electricity. E.ON Nordic is a minority shareholder.
