Nuclear industry is about continuous learning and development

We develop our personnel constantly: in addition to the mandatory training in this industry (nuclear safety, quality), we arrange a wide range of other training for our employees, including plant technical training, managerial and leadership development, project skills training, language and cultural training.

For professionals already working in the nuclear industry, the national nuclear safety courses offer further safety training. The first course was in held in 2003–2004, and the current course is number 14. The courses are arranged by the Lappeenranta University of Technology under professor Juhani Hyvärinen in cooperation with the main operators in the Finnish nuclear industry. Instruction is jointly provided by the Lappeenranta University of Technology, Aalto University, TVO, Fortum, Fennovoima, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment

The nuclear power know-how of Fennovoima personnel is at a good level. One way to maintain it is with industry's joint training and cooperation.

In a demanding project like ours, an important part of the learning process is information sharing and learning from skilled co-workers – in other words, utilising the know-how of the top specialists’ by sharing it.
