Fennovoima in brief

Fennovoima is a Finnish nuclear power company that was founded in 2007.

Fennovoima submitted its application for the Decision-in-Principle to the Finnish Government in January 2009. The Finnish Government and Parliament granted Fennovoima the Decision-in-Principle in 2010.

Fennovoima will produce electricity for its owners’ needs at production cost. Each owner will get the share of capacity proportional to its ownership in the company.

Finnish company Voimaosakeyhtiö SF owns 66 percent of Fennovoima and nuclear expert E.ON Kärnkraft Finland 34 percent. Altogether Fennovoima has 68 shareholders.

Voimaosakeyhtiö SF is owned by 67 finnish regional and local energy companies as well as companies in trade and industry.
